On the upside, most of the lifts and most of the lights were still working.
This enabled the use of the observation lounge for a senior staff briefly...at least those members of staff that were still on the ship. There were some very notable absences, however, and since the ship's communications internal and external were still a touch...wonky, she had not been able to establish with 100% certainty if they were actually off-ship or not. It was, to say the very least, very frustrating.
Mallory sat in the chair at the head of the table, wishing desperately for a cup of coffee but not trusting the ability of the replicators just now, and waited for her staff.
Lt. Tye Beryl entered the observation lounge and nodded to Mal. "Captain." She moved to one side of the table and took a seat. She wasn't one to sit far away from the captain, but nor was she one to sit right next to the commanding officer. She expected more senior staff would want the seats closest to their CO.
Talrian entered the conference lounge still dressed in his workout gear, feeling getting information and a handle on the situation was more important than what clothes he was wearing in the aftermath. He kept his right arm held tight against his midsection. How he felt about getting the soreness and pain of the shoulder removed was the same as he felt about changing to a uniform. It could wait until things were well in hand. He had use of the arm if necessary and he'd suffered through pain before so this was nothing. "I'll report more when all are here," he said, glancing around the room, "but so far the ship seems secure." That, he felt, was important enough to skip to the forefront of the meeting.
Talee walked in, looking around, and found a seat, setting her tablet down before herself taking a seat and going over her reports, making sure she had everything.
Remy entered, her mind more on the problem at hand than on anything else, and found the first open seat. She already had Science doing sensor sweeps both of the ship itself and of surrounding space. Ships don't just move without some force acting upon them and there would have to be some residual effect from that. It was just a matter of fine tuning the sensors and finding it.
Tiernin was pissed as hell. Engineering was a madhouse, and system after system was giving her headaches. Entering the observation lounge, her face said it all. Finding a seat, she sat heavily.
Joanna was upset with the fighter deck not behaving itself. She had her mechanics trying to keep the systems from going from bad to worse. She was thinking of doing a fly-over the ship to see if she could spot anything out of the ordinary, but doing so would be inadvisable due to the time period. Sitting down, she tried to focus on the matter at hand.
"Alright, everyone. The situation is fairly obvious in as much as the situation is, what's the acronym? FUBAR, I believe. We have somehow managed to get from the Azurean Corridor in the year 2419 to Earth circa 2037. We are missing several members of staff--not the least of which include our XO, chief tactical, chief medical, and chief counselor--and can't seem to even be sure if they are on the ship or not. So, lay it on me, people. What's the rest of the situation. Department reports."
Having already given the most important information possible as he entered, he waited while others gave their report. Many of those in the room he hadn't even had a chance to formally meet yet so he didn't want to get off on the wrong foot with any of them. There was time enough for that later - when things weren't quite as dire.
"As I mentioned previously, we've run a sweep of the ship, with internal sensors and eyes on. I want to be more in depth and completely certain but I can say at this time I believe the ship is secure from intruders. We're working on external scans to attempt to locate our missing crew. I think we've had some mild success, Earth at this time did not have a lot of non-Terrans on it, so those who are distinctively non-Terran are easiest to find."
He looked around the room. "It'll be helpful if I can get a complete listing from each department of their missing personnel, then we'll concentrate our efforts on locating them." He shook his head. "Earth at this time, though," he stared out the port windows for a moment. "Savage, violent, war-torn and so poisoned by its own inhabitants the sensors, when we can believe they're working correctly, are still having a hell of a time penetrating all that corrosion surrounding the planet."
He turned to the captain. "It may be beneficial for a few teams to take shuttlecraft atmo, see if penetrating that toxic haze will help focus the sensors."
"How or whatever brought us here damaged more then half of our optical data-network and mix that with the period satellites, I believe that is why communications are down along with sensors. It's gonna take awhile to get the optical data-network up and running again, which means systems well be slow and sluggish. My hope is once we get the optical data-network fixed, it'll fix our communications problem."
Tye listened to the new Chief of Security give his report. The helm department wasn't particularly large, so it didn't take long for her to get a head count, and it was one of the first things she'd done after she managed to right the ship after being flung across space and time. When it was her turn, Beryl spoke up, "To help save Engineering a bit of work, I ran diagnostics on the Navigation system. Things got a bit banged up when we became a pebble in a slingshot through time and space. As long as propulsion is on line, I should be able to get us out of here.
"How to get us back to our time? I'll save that for Science and Engineering," Tye added. She looked to the CSec officer, "As for a headcount, I'm missing Ensign Danielson, but the rest of the navigation department are accounted for. "
"Those of the Science department," Remy said, "who were working on projects in the labs are still aboard. Those were off duty, can't be found. That would be four individuals. I can send you their names. One of the lines of investigation I'm pursuing ... or will be ... is whether something in the setup in the labs had an effect on what happened to us."
"Engineering is a madhouse, to be sure. I am missing three engineers who were working on the sensor pallets, and whether or not this phenomenon has a direct link to their disappearance or not, I have no idea. As for the system failures and power hiccups, we are trying to figure out if this sleigh ride through time has affected our systems critically. I have three teams working to fix the power systems, which is why some areas have power at the present moment," Tiernin said. "I am trying to get this ship up and running in 72 hours, Kah'less providing," she added.
Mallory rubbed at her temples. None of this was great news, really...but then, had she expected great news? No, that would have been unreasonable.
