ON:

Joanna was suprised as how fast she had stowed her things. Alot of her stuff she left behind on the Arlington simply it held a load of memories. She wanted to start fresh and figuring that here she would start anew. Fixing a mug of hot chocolate, she tapped her combadge, "Captain Thorne, Cmdr. Jackson here, can we meet?", she said confidently. Sipping her chocolate she waited for an answer.

The captain was instantly amused by the commander being the first of her department heads to ask rather than just showing up at her door. Mal chuckled and tapped her own badge to respond. "Of course, Commander. Please come up to my ready room."

Joanna finished her hot chocolate and headed to the captain's ready room and hit the door chime. She was some how eager to see her new captain and find out what type of fighters she was going to get. She hoped they were the Mklll Valkyres.

"Enter," Mallory called, looking up and seeing the precise person that she'd expected to see. "Ah, Commander. Welcome about the Odin. Have a seat." She waved at the chair in front of her desk.

Joanna walked in" Thankyou Captain. I am happy to be here. It feels good to be able to make a fresh new start on a new ship", she said taking the seat offered to her.

Mal stood and chuckled. "I think starts don't get much fresher than this," she said as she moved to the replicator. "Would you like something to drink?" she asked before ordering herself a coffee.

"Sure, a coffee black would do just great", Joanna said. "Ain't that the truth. I have to buy all new things as I left the old memories, some good and others bad and a few that haunt me to this day. Life on the Arlington had its good and bad days", she added. Thinking of Capt. Margrove caused a tear to fall.

"Life is much like that," Mal said with a sym pathetic smile as she handed the coffee over. "Hopefully we'll all find more good days than bad here on the Odin." She sat behind her desk again. "So, I'm still working my way through personnel files. Maybe you can save me some time later and tell me a bit about yourself and your service history before coming here."

"Sure Captain if it would help. Well for starters I grew up like a tomboy. Hung out with the boys pretending I was a fighter pilot. Both my parent's flew in Starfleet Air corps and being a fliers brat I grew up around fighters. Had me a cardboard cockpit and played everyday that I was a fighter pilot. I guess it's in my blood. Any how, they enteted me into a flight school and from there l went to the academy. But before I went to the academy, l did a crazy thing, and itwas a bad idea and nearly cost my life. I borrowed dads fighter and went on a mission posing as my father. The mission was a success but my fathers fighter got shot up badly. It was a miracle l landed the ship, however l ended up getting grounded and written up. I got accepted to the academy and got my call sign from a dare that almost got me in hack.....well l had to prove something to a bunch of cadets and instead of doing it for real, l got them to do it in the flight simulator. I ripped the others cadets fighter to shreds and thus my call sign "Ripper". After graduation I was assigned to the Arlington as a fighter pilot. Captain Margrove was a very good person nd I would come to think of her as my second mother. There were many altercations and battles in which we fought. I advanced through the ranks and went from Ensign to Lt. Cmdr. and was promoted from fighter pilot to squadron commander. Our CAG was injured our last mission and I took over that spot until he returned to duty. And now here I am on your ship as CAG", Joanna finished.

Mal listened, nodding along as the commander recounted her history. The captain could certainly relate to following in the footsteps of one's parents, since that was what Mallory herself had done. "And the Odin is happy to have you," she said with a smile. "Do you have any questions for me?"

Smiling, "Just one thing, where's the bar and would you have a drink with me?", Joanna giggled.

The captain chuckled. Ah, the reputation of pilots was ever the same. "The ship does have a lounge," she said, "and there's establishments on the station. I'm sure I could fit a drink somewhere into my schedule."

"Good, then until later Captain I will take my leave and see to my fighters", Joanna said smiling.

Mal nodded. "Very good, Commander. Dismissed."
