Mission: Tyr's Hand

=/\= T-Minus 9.5 Hours...

After several breaks and solo wanderings-around, the oh-so-happy little trio was back together and carting their patient along. They only had a vague idea as to where they were going at this point, but they couldn't just...stay put, so moving forward was the only way to go.

Finley stopped walking, which caused Frizila to stop as well since she was carrying the rear end of the litter, and he was carrying the front. After a brief pause, he set down his end walked several paces away. Ensign Frizila and PO Romanov just watched him. Finley started to scream. "FUUUUUUUUCK. Fuck this miserable fucking planet! Where the fuck is everyone? Ohhh, let's dig up all our resources and kill the elephants and have slaves make fucking bombs for us so we can have ourselves a lovely little world war! Where the fuck is everyone?! Too busy fighting somewhere, overfishing, or building a fucking fast food restaurant I imagine! WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE GOING?"

Frizila stared wide-eyed for a long time while Finley went on his tirade, then she finally did a hard blink to wet her eyes. 'man that guy could go on a tear', she thought. Then she diverted her attention again to Jim, their patient. Apparently lying upside down at nearly a 45-degree angle caused him to wakeup. This time he was looking a little more conscious.

She signaled to Romanov to come quickly to help get the patient level, so she didn't straight drop him. Jim started to cough and clear his throat. Then he began to talk, at first it was all no-coherent babble. Frizila thought 'he was damn luck Finley was still off on his tirade because there is no doubt he would attempt literally smack some sense into him.' Then she shook her head.

After a bit, it became clear he was starting to recall what he was doing before receiving the beating that our trio had broken up. He spoke about meeting up with a person to exchange several important specimens. It was during this exchange that Jim was captured and held hostage. Beyond that, he couldn't remember much, but he felt somehow like his life had been spared. Even if it was by a band of merry men, led by an angry, asshole of a doctor.

Finally, Jim's rambling stopped and he blinked groggily. He looked around and his eyes fell on Lorelei. "What...what direction are we going?"

Meanwhile, the female half of the Romanov twins had just been staring off at the doctor, but now she looked at the dude they'd been carrying around to...nowhere. "North, I think." She didn't exactly have a tricorder on her, but she had a half-decent sense of direction.

"We...should go south. We may be able to find...better people there."

Are there any better people on this rock? Lorelei wondered, but she didn't say aloud. "Hey, Commander?" she called to Finley. "The native suggests we go south."

Finley glared at the patient. "Thanks, Thomas. Thanks for the directions. You could have grunted that like a day or two ago, but better late than never they always say. Well, my loves, we go south. What's the worst that could happen?" Finley said and picked up his end of the litter again. "Off we go!"

The women hurried to keep up with the doctor, although Lorelei was seriously contemplating striking off on her own...

They walked, and walked, and walked some more. They moved south, but the fighter tech didn't really see much of anything changing. They still had yet to encounter anyone else, which she was starting to think was strange, although she couldn't determine the reason for it. It just seemed that there should be some people out here.

She didn't have much time to contemplate it.

The air was filled with a high-pitched whine. It came on fast, but Lorelei recognized it almost immediately. "Transporter!" she shouted without thinking, whirling to look at the others.

In a blink of the eye the ensign got caught up in the excitement, dropped her patient, squealed in excitement, then ran towards the beam. She was the first one of the trio to disappear.

And just like that, Frizila was on back in the cargo hold of Odin. A wave of calm washed over her. She didn't know how it happened, but it felt great to be back on the ship. She stood still for a long 5 count, then did a quick pat-down of herself. There was a silent sigh of relief when she felt the vial in her pocket. She lifted the corners into a smirk, ever so slightly into smirk, then started to look around her. As she stood there more and more people started to materialize all around her. They all looked like crew members, but since she had only been on the ship for a short time before getting ejected to her Earth adventure, she had not had a chance to meet any of them.

She scanned the room to see if anyone needed medical assistance. As the room continued to fill it got harder and harder to observe from a distance. She decided to just start checking on people closest to where she was and work through the room. She introduced herself and started to assess the situation. Most people appeared to have mild bumps and bruises, she wasn't finding anyone that was in grave need of medical attention. Still, she continued to work through the room to make sure everyone was stable.

Finley knelt by his patient. "It's unlikely anyone will believe you, but if you could find it in your heart to not mention us disappearing into column of light and fireflies, I would be most appreciative. It's probably safer for you anyways. Good luck, Jerry," Finley said to Jim.

Lorelei just stared at him. "What kind of fucking doctor are you, any--"she burst out, unable to help herself...

...just as the Odin's transporter grabbed her.

Finley had been about to think of a pretty great retort to Petty Officer Romanov but, upon arrival in what was surely a cargo bay, he realized it was a time for action rather than sharp wit. It was time to show what kind of doctor he was, rather than quip about it. There were handfuls of the crew assembled, and it was plain that there were multiple injuries. He looked around the space and quickly found the bulbous head of Ensign Frizila. It appeared she was working the room already. He'd assume she was working, and not walking around blowing bubbles for people...

Finley approached a nearby crewman with what appeared to be a compound fracture. "There, there now. You're back. Looks like you found some adventure down there," Finley said as he began inspecting the wound. "Ensign! Bring me a medkit sharpish!" he bellowed in Fizila's direction.

"--way!"

...but it didn't matter now.

Lorelei's dark eyes widened as she looked around, verging between wildness and panic. "The Odin..."
