......{wait what?} Madalene thought as she listened to the message. She wasn't close to the lieutenant but still.....she stood up to the ass of a chief of security officer. So not only where they down several personnel they were now leaderless at least in the department. Madalene also knew she needed to let the department know but she couldn't leave the bridge especially with everything that was going on.

"Damn't....." Madalene said under her breath as she looked at the load out well what should be the data she requested. "Goddamn network. I can't even get the information I need to fix this fucking thing." Madalene muttered again to herself. Hell pulling up up to date sensor data was almost impossible. Which was a dangerous thing to be dealing with in the timeline they shouldn't be in.

".....no wonder it's so slow we have been trying to connect with the old-Earth network." Madalene muttered under her breath. "Now how do we disconnect or stop the ship from trying to connect." Madalene muttered again as she went over some sensor data or at least the stuff that did come in.

".....we um....." A young female started but stopped. As she was unsure how to continue knowing that the junior lieutenant had already heard the news.

".....yes ensign it is true. Now we need to move on. The ship is barely working. Majority of the crew is missing. I need help. Are you able to help or do you need a few minuets?" Madalene said understanding that people were gonna need a moment to deal with the loss but they did need to move on.

"Ye yes of course.....umm shouldn't we address the department?" The ensign asked looking around the bridge.

"Later. First we need to get the ship to stop. trying to connect with old-Earth. Once we get that done we'll rescue the missing the crew and then we can mourn." Madalene said making sure she wasn't sounding like a complete bitch. The ensign just nodded feeling like the whole bridge was watching her. "Alright good. Now the first thing we need to do is convince the ship that it doesn't need to connect to a network. Once we get that done our optical-data network well be faster and more efficient."

"Okay yes of course......" The ensign said, ".....how do we go about that. I mean all Starfleet ships are set-up to automatically connect with any network."

"Yes that is correct." Madalene said, ".....that is what we need to disconnect that or at least turn it off." Madalene said hitting a few buttons and waiting again for her console to do something. Madalene was thinking of the next move. "Go down to the computer search through these directories and turn these off." Madalene said handing the ensign a PaDD. The ensign nodded and left the bridge leaving Madalene to overthink everything.
