Madalene finished up what she was doing on the bridge, wrapping up her last shift as chief operations officer, which was weird to think of but she was moving to her other love, science. "Ensign," she simply said transferring the control over to the ensign.

The ensign simply nodded as he watched his former chief leave the bridge, once on the lift Madalene called for the mess, hoping that space rabbit would be there. The lift stopped and after a short walk to the mess, after getting a drink she looked around, got lucky as she spotted the rabbit, "lieutenant Veera, good to see you again," Madalene said with a small smile.

Callisi found a nice cup of tea to be the most relaxing in a pinch. Her time down on the planet was comforting, for all the reasons she needed. A new friend, a new outlook, and even some of the same looks, but it helped her put things into perspective. A slow sip, her eye closed, and she just savored the moment. She came out of her respite to see Madalene approaching, and she smiled softly. "Lieutenant Sabine, always a pleasure. Join me?" she offered the chair across from her, "Unless you're in the middle of something." Always offering a way out. Perhaps it was cultural.

"Thank you," Madalene said putting her Synthenol, "...so I am assuming that you have heard that I have stepped down from chief operations and taken up the reigns of chief science officer?" She asked simply, hoping she had and that she wasn't overstepping on anything.

The rabbitess gave a more pronounced smirk, and twitched her ears slightly, but enough to draw attention to them. After a pause, she spoke, "I have, rumors were travelling faster than light before we ever dreamed of such. Congratulations on your new posting." she offered with a nod, "Though I haven't yet heard who they were thinking to take the position." she hid her features behind a sip of tea.

"...well I put in a good word for you to take the position," Madalene said with a smirk, "and thank you, my other love," Madalene said with a chuckle.

Callisi gave a nod, "It's good to enjoy what you do. There are far too many Ts'usugi philosophers that talk about the doom of being trapped in a task you do not enjoy." she commented. "So, to hear that your career is more in line with your passion is relieving."

"As for the good word, while we prefer to stand on our own merit, I certainly won't turn down the recommendation of a department chief." she noted. Her previous impression of Madalene was constantly being re-evaluated based on the fact that she was possessed by a malignant spirit creature.

"My good word, is only amplifying all the tremendous work you have already done, especially with what you did to help take back the ship and help save the crew," Madalene said with a smile, "....but I am sure we are gonna be working with each other closely," Madalene added.

Callisi gave a nod. Everything she said was true. "Thank you." a pause, "And I'm looking forward to working with you. I know we... started off on the wrong foot, but I don't hold you accountable for that." she started, "Who that was, wasn't you. I look forward to meeting the actual you, in the weeks to come."

Finishing her tea Madalene gave the rabbitess a smile, "and I am here to help you or whoever moves into my old position my door is alway open," Madalene added.

"Likewise. Should my knowledge or council ever be of need, find me." she offered. "My... door, as you say, will also always be open."

"Thank you, well I better get down to the labs, and continue my transition," Madalene said with a smile as she stood grabbing her saucer and cup, "...well until next time," Madalene said as she walked off to recycle them.

"Indeed, until next time. Good luck." Callisi offered, before returning to her tea.
