Five minutes later the duo of Madalene and Lexi walked in where they found the duo of Cydwenn and Pasgen. "Hello, you two. Sounds like you have been busy as well! "

Pasgen merely looked at them, hish mood not the best. From the transporter room to the meeting room, hish mood had changed. There had been a voice in the corridors s/he neither recognize or understood causing hir to stop and scrutinize their surroundings a few times on the way. Now, s/he was not only feeling confused, but paranoid and untrusting, having no idea why.

Cydwenn was just sitting at the table. Things were going fine while she was down in the transporter room. But, now there was something pulling on the back of her mind like, she has forgotten something but couldn't remember what she forgot.

"I was able to look over your idea." Madalene said taking a seat and setting a PaDD down onto the table. "...and I believe that it could work well with one of the ideas we came up with." Madalene said simply tapping a few buttons and pulling up all three ideas on a large screen. "So, I believe that using the transporter and deflector dish is the best plans to combined."

For the moment, Lexi stood quietly, watching. She was having trouble focusing.

~Don't try.~ a voice whispered in her thoughts. ~Let go...~

What the...? she thought, not at all sure that she knew what that was about. Maybe she was just over-tired, and her own mind was rebelling at her insistence that it continue to function. Yes, that was it. That had to be it. She forced her mind to refocus on the conversation around her, but that, too, was becoming harder to do.

Cydwenn watched as the lieutenant spoke but something kept distracting her. Like a shadow or like she was seeing double. Blinking a few times,"yes...sorry we, will I should really say that petty officer Pasgen came up with the idea of using a part of the transporter to help enhance our communications."

"Part of a pattern enhancer!" Pasgen corrected, a bit more harshly than s/he would have normally. "Not part of the transporter itself."

And as soon as that correction was made kind of pulled Cydwenn back to the present. "Yes, my apologies petty officer you are quite correct." Cydwenn said but Cydwenn still felt that something was nagging her.

"Interesting idea and yes I agree with ensign Sov that those two ideas could work hand in hand. How long would it take to get it setup?" Madalene was truly struggling to concentrate. It was like someone was telling her to push and push, to get things done as fast as possible.

Pasgen's eyes had darted between the other three. Something was wrong, something wasn't right. What it was, s/he couldn't tell, but s/he could sense it. Oh yes, s/he could smell it!

"Possibly thirty minutes, take away a minute or two. Are you sure you find this idea interesting," Pasgen questioned with near the suspicion s/he had been feeling in hish tone, "that you want to use it, Lieutenant? I sense a lot of uncertainty here and..." S/he suddenly stopped as if s/he had been made to stop, squeezing hish eyes, feeling pain in hish head unlike anything s/he had ever felt before.

Interesting, was it interesting. Madalene wasn't sure. In the past, sure it could have been or maybe even if this discussion was happening on the ship she was raised up on for sure. But, this was Starfleet and that antsy-ness she felt while in the academy that, that feeling of being trapped in a box.

"Right, yes right right the enhancer," Madalene said like she was annoyed with the stamens that she wasn't interested. "Petty officer we are in a very strict time crunch here if I say I find this interesting I find it interesting," Madalene said her hand coming down a little bit harder onto the table than she normally would.

"My apologies, Sir," Pasgen said with a frown, uncertain of what just happened.

"So with that settled we'll use the pattern enhancer and the deflector dish in unison. Now, like always there is always a chance of setbacks which, we cannot," Madalene said emphasizing the word "cannot", "...afford. So, before we move forward let's layout some of these potential drawback."

Cydwenn jumped as she heard the response from Pasgen, it wasn't will it was harsh but it felt like it was out of the blue, the petty officer at least when they first met seemed warm and welcoming, apparently not anymore. She also jumped when the lieutenant's hand came down on the table.

"Will, for the deflector dish there is a possibility of feedback coming up the beam back to the ship. Especially with this being an electrical storm," Cydwenn said as she looked through her PaDD to show what could happen, "....and if it does, this is what we are looking at," she said showing potential cascading power failures throughout the ship.

Pasgen looked over the information, though that wasn't easy with hish aching head. "If that is the case, then its possible the enhancer's amplifier circuit could amplify that too. We need to come up with a way to counter the feedback." The voices and paranoia returning, s/he's tone sounded ominous.

Cydwenn furrowed her brow, "how can we ground a ship? Or more what is coming out of the ship and into the storm." She asked her brow still furrowed as she looked around the table.

"We figure out a way to redirect the feedback," Pasgen insisted, looking between hish chief and Lexi. Of course, that is if you really want this to succeed, s/he thought, suspiciously.

Sitting became too much for Madalene. And like the chair became shocked she sprang up suddenly. "Possible, yes possible," she repeated as she rubbed her forehead, "....disperse it like a static discharge. Maybe adjusting the shields to absorb the excess electrical current and then discharge it out into space."

The hand slamming into the table made Lexi jump, but mostly because she realized she hadn't been paying attention. Damn it! Fortunately for her, they had continued the conversation after that, and she had a general idea of what was under discussion. "We could use the shields to absorb the excess energy, yes, Lieutenant Sabine," she answered as calmly as she could. She was trying to insert some calm back into the room; the agitated energy around her was not helping her to focus any better. "We could then reroute that energy back through the EPS manifolds to reinforce the shields."

Would that even work? Her brain was so foggy now. It was like swimming through peanut butter just to put an idea together. But by anyone's gods -- she really didn't care which one or ones -- she was going to keep pushing. The ship and crew needed her to.

"Alright alright, good yes, good," Madalene said as she thought, but she was also finding it quite difficult as will. Her mind was racing, as quickly as one thought came in it was gone as a new one entered. "Enough! I think we have a plan we can put forward to the captain, yes?"

Cydwenn wasn't sure, but again she was waiting for that other foot to fall, that one thing, that none of them were seeing even though it was right in front of their face to come back to bite them. What could she say, nothing. So, she just nodded in agreement to bring in the captain.

Lexi frowned, but it wasn't necessarily at Sabine or any of the others in the room. It all sounded good at this moment, but she had that nagging feeling as if she had missed some important detail but couldn't figure out what it was. That frustrated her, but she was trying to remain, at least outwardly, the calm one in the room. She looked at Pasgen. "Your thoughts before we proceed?"

"My thoughts..." Hish head canting, Pasgen narrowed hish eyes and looked over to Lexi slowly. Did the CEO really want to know what s/he was thinking? S/he did not really think so. S/he wanted to say so...many...things, but something held hir back. "I believe we are wasting time. All the bases are covered, this plan will work."

"Agreed!' Madalene said a bit too strongly as she hit her badge, "Captain Thorne, could you please come to conference room 3 we believe, we have solved the impending problem with the electrical storm and our communications with the away team," Madalene said looking around the room one more time.

Mallory's headache had increased to the point of being a full-on thunderstorm, a drum concert, taking place inside her skull. Some part of her said that she should go to sickbay and get checked out, but she kept just...not doing it. She was the captain...right? She was the captain and had important things to do.

Like go to conference room 3. "On my way."

She headed from her ready room, noting Sovok in the big chair while Kristina was on the planet, and headed to the conference room without telling him where she was going. When she entered, she had to wince. When had the lights gotten so bright? "Yes?" she asked brusquely, wondering if this was another goose chase on Sabine's part. "What is it?"

Madalene had forced herself to sit, which was not easy. What she couldn't stop was her foot, specifically her left foot tapping on the ground. "We believe we have found a solution to our impending communication problem," Madalene said, as she tapped a few buttons showing her the plan.

"Using of the transporter pattern enhancer, along with calibrating the deflector dish to shoot a highly focused beam, we believe we can amplify the communication signal significantly enough to cut through the electrical storm," Madalene said trying to force her foot from tapping.

Pasgen sat there staring away, drumming hish long fingertips on the table.

...they are looking at you a voice said, a voice that did not belong to anyone who was physically in the room.

"Wha, what," Cydwenn said snapping out of whatever stupor she was in, "oh um, yes I believe the lieutenant summed it up." Cydwenn said. {Are they looking at me? Are they judging me,} Cydwenn thought as she slipped back into her stupor.

What is wrong with these people? Mallory began to think, but it was a thought that didn't truly coalesce in her mind. Something shimmered at the corner of her vision and she snapped her head to the left, trying to see what it was, but it was gone. She turned back to the crew. "What are, uh... What's the possible downsides to this idea?"

"Potentially a feedback loop," Madalene said simply, like this was a typical everyday threat the ship faced.

"Y yes, err well it is a rather large feedback loop, um but," Cydwenn said feeling the glares wether or not there were any. "But lieutenant Dering suggested using the shields to siphon the excess power and than disperse it out into space," Cydwenn pushed forwarded, through the self-sense of doubt.

Lexi frowned. "No, that was Sabine. I suggested using the shields to absorb the power and then redistribute it back through the EPS manifolds to feed the shields, making them stronger," she corrected a bit too harshly, but her head was starting to ache from whatever the hell was going on with her today. Maybe she should go to Sickbay, but that thought was discarded immediately after forming, and she shook her head to refocus on the meeting.

{Was it something that Sabine suggested, the part of dispersing the excess energy out into space,}. Cydwenn thought, {what is going on? It's like I can't think or even keep anything in my mind,} Cydwenn continued to think as she once again withdrew into her thoughts.

"Either way the solution does protect and keep the ship safe," Madalene said looking around the group.

The throbbing began to pick up and Mal pressed her fingers semi-discreetly to her left temple. "Yeah, sure, fine, whatever. Just do it." She turned to leave.

"Alright, you heard the captain, let's get going." Madalene said collecting what she had brought to the meeting.
