An AI Called Kat

"....hrmm interesting," Maddy said as she spun the 3D image of the upgraded holographic projector. Yes it was simple but there was a beauty in the simplicity. "Alright enough oggling your own work and get this finished." First thing was first fabricating the shell and then all the insides. Double-checking some of the specifications before allowing the fabricator to do it's thing.

"Two hours," pouting Madalene looked around the small lab. "....guess this gives me some time catch up on some reading." She sighed knowing that the reading she needed to get caught up on was technical journals. Yes, the technical journals were boring as hell but there was the excitement of reading about new tech and how it was being utilize or potential new things knowledge continued to expand.

"....oh I am so glad that that I found you lieutenant," Cydwenn said stuttering slightly and slightly out of breath. Even thought the chief operations was not science what her project was could be incorporated into the science department.

"Take a breath ensign what is going on?" Madalene asked nervous that a possible science experiment got way out of hand. Which truth be told was a rarity but science was science and they did need to take big risks to get a minuscule of progress.

"Oh n nothing nothing like that." Cydwenn said chuckling nervously. "....ac actually it is about the project you are working on for that AI called Kat. I believe there is tremendous scientific discovery there and would love to pull your project into the sciences of course you'll remain your project leader status."

"Ensign slow down," Madalene said with a small smirk. It was kinda nice seeing excitement seeing that energy of potential new discoveries. "I am just doing this to help someone who needs help. I had no plans on expanding on this outside of making sure it worked for the AI called Kat.

"Oh...uh um....I I am uh....," Madalene stuttered again unsure of what to say or think really. She just assumed that she would be excited to have a chance of advancing science. "Um....okay I think you have something here and well I would love to continue to....um continue to pursue this line of this of discovery."

"OKay okay....I'll need to speak with Kat about this. If Kat says yes then we can move on from there." Cydwenn nodded making some notes on her PaDD. Just as the fabricator beeped letting Madalene know that the shell was done. Now it was time for all the insides to get done." "Um....right well I'll let you get back to it. Please let me know what is decided on this project." Madalene just nodded giving the ensign a small smile. She was right this was a good project and it had possibilities of leading to other projects.

And with that Cydwenn turned and left marking off another project well at least a potential project. After she left Madalene got started on all of the smaller and much more intricate parts they were gonna take while but they were needed well actually the device wouldn't work. She was looking at at least another five to six hours.
