...Madalene knew she needed to the science labs and start on figuring things out but at the same time she felt obliged to pay a visit to the AI. Nodding to the officers guarding the bay Madalene walked in adjusting her backpack, "uh Kat...." {Gods this is weird.} Madalene said trying to figure out why she felt obliged to help out this machine.

As Madalene entered the stricken, wrecked unit's sensors tracked her. When addressed, she activated the holographic avatar, flickering into existence. "Hello again, Lieutenant Sabine."

Madalene jumped, {fuck!} She thought hating the way holograms or this one particular just pops up. "Sorry that I didn't back to you sooner. But things have slowed down a bit. The captain needs to look over my plans a little bit more. She is being cautious which I understand but...."

A nod from Kat as her soft smile faded slightly and she turned more serious. "I understand. Thank you for trying." A moment's hesitation before she continued. "Fuel is getting low, eight percent and falling. I will have to go in low power mode soon if I am to last."

"What percentage does that happen at?" Madalene said wondering if she could requisition a portable power supply. It wasn't connecting it to the ship and it would give it the power it needed.

"Normally I enter low power mode at five percent. All physical processes are shut down except for basic sensors. Seventy five percent of AI threads are shut down, severely limiting my ability to interact on an even level." Kat explained. "I - ... Do not like doing this. Or shutting down entirely, if fuel becomes too critical. It goes counter to my primary directives."

"There is something we can try. Until I get the go ahead for the rebuilding project. Have you ever been hooked up to a portable power supply or generator?" Madalene asked looking up the specs of the ones they have.

"I don't know. I have no memories of before taking up in this bay." The hologram motioned to her stricken physical form behind her, still in a state of mad disrepair. "But I can help you with specifications for a power supply that would suffice. 2.5 kilovolts at three amps would suffice to keep current operational level."

"Okay," Madalene said inputting those specs into a already existing portable power supply. "...okay we can make this work. I just need someone to bring the power supply down here."

"I - ... this - ... Is there any way I can help? Be of use? It doesn't feel right to accept your help without doing anything in return." Kat spoke, quietly. "It goes against my programming."

"...just keep an eye on the specs make sure everything is working." Madalene said putting in the requisition knowing that it would be here shortly, "And don't worry the condition you are in you have done more then enough..."

Kat shook her head. "It's not enough, though. My core programming compels me to try to be useful, to help in any way I can. Lieutenant Quinle Rahl also told me to find a place here by making myself useful. Sitting here and watching a power supply is - ... Hardly validating."

"I wish I could help you with that but the captain is pretty insistent that well....you remain in designated area or wherever you met lieutenant Rahl." Madalene said understanding that move. "Once we are completely sure there is no threat." Madalene said before looking up, "...sorry didn't mean for that to sound so harsh," she added.

"It's ok. I do honestly understand. But it goes directly against my very reason for existing." Kat's hologram flickered, as she looked thoughtful. "It's a contradiction I am having trouble parsing and categorizing."

Just then the doors opened up and Matte walked in, "ma'am here's the power supply you requested." The ensign said parking the hover-cart. "You sure you wanna do this?" He asked.

"Yes," Madalene said looking at the power supply, "...now get back up to the bridge. If anyone asks you filled out a requisition order and that's it." Matte just nodded leaving Madalene alone with the AI. "Alright it'll take me a few moments to get you hooked up and then we'll get your power supply filled up."

Kat looked over at the power supply, noting the cable and plug. "You'll need a new plug to connect to my systems for umbilical feed." She held up her hand, manifesting a small hologram of the required connector. "There's an opposite counter part behind a hatch on the rear of my main body. While using umbilical power I will not be using fuel."

"Okay," Madalene said quickly walking over to the slightly larger replicator and placed the order using her codes to finish it. "Alright got the right thing. You ready?" Madalene asked double checking somethings making sure everything was good to go.

"Yes. Assuming all necessary systems are functional." Kat spoke, watching Madalene. The hatch sprung open with a 'tink', revealing the power socket for external power.

Madalene placed a the hose into the socket giving it a twist she then picked up her PaDD and turned the portable power supply on. "Alright everything is looking good. Gonna run some diagnostics to make sure that everything is going okay."

"Running on external power. Shutting down reactor to conserve fuel." Kat spoke matter of factly, though her soft smile returned. She seemed happy to be at least no longer dependent on her own fuel supply. "Incoming power is beautifully stable. Essential AI and personality systems stable, Evo 3 core running at one hundred percent effectiveness," beat. "Thank you, Lieutenant Sabine."

"Your welcome," Madalene said with a small smile, {...now let's hope there isn't any fallout from this.} Madalene thought, "...well I need to get back to work. I am glad I was able to help. I'll try and stop back after my shift."

"Thank you. Though - " she hesitated a moment before continuing, feeling like she was imposing. "If you can figure out something for me to do, to help with, I would really appreciate."

"Yeah let me see what I can I do," Madalene said knowing that she needed to tread carefully. "I might have something but I need to look into some things first." Madalene said giving the holographic-image a small smile.

"Alright. I will be here." Kat offered with her practiced soft smile.
