Transfer Orders Handed Down

Ripper had just finished her flight simulations when the Captain commed her to come to her RR asap. After hearing that Joanna showered and slid into her civies and wondered what the devil did she do now.

Waving at a few of her friends in the corridors, she strode to the captain's RR and hit the door chime.

"Enter", came the reply and she walked in. "Good morning captain, you wished to see me?", Joanna said.

"Yes Ripper, there are two things I have to talk to you about. Coffee, tea, some eggs, perhaps?', Margrove asked. Captain Margrove had spent many times talking to Joanna and she felt comfortable with her but today was different. She was a bit sad with the news she had to say to her favorite pilot.

"Um, Margrove you know what I have every morning. Coffee, two eggs and toast with rasberry jam", Ripper said laughing. Joanna spent time with Margrove on so many occassions that she had grown fond of her and thought of her as a mother figure.

Getting Rippers breakfast, Margrove set the tray down in front of Ripper and moved to the other side of her desk. Pulling out the box that contained the solid gold pip, and then picking up the PADD that contained her transfer orders, Margrove sighed as she stood up.

"Ripper, I've known you since you graduated from the Academy. You have proved yourself countless times and have saved many lives at the same time. Your attitude and your personality are so conscientious of others that you get aling with everyone. I hate to lose you", Margrove said.

Ripper nearly choked on her eggs, when Margrove said about hateing losing her. "Excuse me? Captain...you said lose me?", Joanna exclaimed.

"Yes Ripper, I have your transfer orders in my hand", Margrove said. She handed Ripper the PADD with the orders on it.

It said, "Joanna "Ripper" Jackson, you are hereby transferred to the USS Odin as her CAG. You are to report the the Captain upon yourr arrival", she read out loud. "You got to be joking!", Joanna exclaimed. "I don't believe it!", she added.

"Well its true Joanna, you've been transferred to thecUSS Odin. I have no idea why or the reason why but...along with your transfer goes the promotion to Commander as well. CAG officers are usually Commanders and well....you've earned it!", Margrove said handing the little black box with the solid gold pip in it.

"Oh my god! Wait this is way to much for me to digest all at one time", Joanna said with tears forming. She was in shock and almost in tears with this news. Getting up, she wiped the tears away. "Thankyou Captain. I don't know what to say?"

"Joanna get your ass into your Vaklyre and get moving. You know I hate long good byes. Now git!", Margrove said giving Joanna a small push for the door. Joamna left the captains office and raced to her billet and packed her things.

A few hours later she tossed her duffle bag in her fighter and left the flight deck of the Arlington headed for her new home, the USS Odin.
