After finishing with the Captain Quinle made her way to engineering, looking for Lieutenant JG Sabine, with her direct superior's loss she figured the woman may need to talk. Moving in to the situation they had so soon after Quinle coming on board left her only personnel files to judge how each person might be handling the challenges and losses the crew was experiencing. Looking around and blowing out a soft breath, she crossed the floor to approach Madalene with long, easy strides. "Lieutenant Sabine?" She asked softly even though she had her face now connected in her memory through her symbiont.

".....she's operations she'll either be on the bridge or dealing with the computer core." A engineering officer said popping his head up. "Umm.....maybe in the hangar bay as well."

The Trill did not flush, but she lowered her head and offered a soft thank you to the man, the exhaustion that she was able to keep from showing on the outside was manifesting in her memory clearly. Knowing she needed to take the advice she had been offering so many others she walked down to the hangar bay first scanning the area with her dark eyes.

Madalene had just finished up working with some ops officers before getting back to her main assignment.

Quinle did not see lieutenant Sabine so she turned and made her way for the place she had been avoiding really, the bridge. Coming around one of the curves of the hallway she paused seeing the woman before her. Pausing in the hallway, not barring the passage of the other, but making herself known, "Lieutenant Sabine?" The question was easy and offered with a small tip of her head.

"Yes." Madalene said simply looking at the women. "If you need to talk you are also gonna need to walk." Madalene said as she continued to head to the bridge.

The counselor adjusted her step in time with Madalene. "I am Counselor Rahl, " she said introducing herself. "I thought we might take a moment to talk? I do not mind walking as we do."

".....sure what do you need to talk about?" Madalene asked but knowing full well what she needed to talk about seeing as she was a counselor.

"With the loss of your superior I thought to check in with you." Simple and honest, the Trill offered her a no nonsense answer in return.

"I haven't thought about it. There'll be plenty of time for that later. Right now I need to find a new way of saving the crew that is down on the planet." Madalene said simply as she entered the bridge.

Stepping onto the bridge for the first time Quinle's eyes looked around, then settled on Madalene again, "I will not pressure you, but trying to not think about something by working overly hard has a habit of making whatever you are trying to ignore come out at moments you would wish it not to. I am here when you need though."

Madalene didn't know what to say she didn't disagree with the counselor but there was a time and place and frankly this wasn't it. "I'm not sure what you want me to say lieutenant. I don't disagree with you.....in fact you would do well on a freighter seeing as that's how we are trained. Job first everything and I mean everything is not even second."

"Forcing people to try and talk with me when it feels like a waste of their time fosters them not coming to me when I am needed. Unless you are ordered to see me, or I am ordered to see you I will make every attempt to allow you comfort in talking with me. Maybe I can just be a sounding board for your thoughts in trying to save the others for now?" Quinle offered with a tip of her head.

Madalene took a second and thought about it before finally agreeing she wasn't thrilled with having a shrink being her sounding board. "Alright......that's fine just realize if I don't respond I am not ignoring you I just need time to think."

Quinle nodded her head slowly, "I understand, I will try and not distract you from your thoughts." Standing next to Madalene, her hands clasped behind her back as she settled in to listen.

".....alright so we disconnected from the well what should be the subspace relay-network how do we get things coming back from the shuttle live." Madalene said out loud looking at her console as she pondered.

The counselor stood near, a relaxed pose as she looked over Madalene then she looked around the room for a moment. Offering a small question after thinking about it and knowing what her superior had tried. “Is there a way to rewire one of our beacons to pick up the signals in some way?” It was a shot in the dark but allowed for an open discourse.

"We haven't sent out any beacons out," Madalene said still thinking, ".....we can't leave anything behind and even if we destroy it still leaves material and debris that could change the course of history." Madalene, ".....but what if we use a shuttle as beacon. Have one doing the scans and one sitting between us and the first shuttle.'

“That seems like a solid idea. It would create a solid link for the shuttles without having to try and alter previous technology.” Rahl said with a dip of her head, her posture relaxed as she looked to Madalene.

"Alright I need to go find the helm officer. Thank you lieutenant. If I need to talk I'll come find you." Madalene said simply before looking around the bridge and not seeing the helm officer.
