Mission: Starting Again
Timeline: OOC: Takes place leading into "What's Going On?"

It had been a long time since Felicity had been in the academy, and she hadn't really expected to ever be back. It wasn't that her time here had been bad or anything; she'd just thought she was done with it. It had been something of a surprise to receive a temporary assignment only to be brought right back to Earth for...whatever this was.

As she made her way through the academy halls, she hoped that she was remembering the way correctly. She noticed another woman that seemed vaguely familiar--had she seen her on the Odin?--and looking like she was finding her way as well.

"Hey there," Felicity greeted with a smile. "Where ya headed?"

Indi had studied the personnel roster of the Odin during the time they'd been grounded. So, after a quick mental search, she identified the woman as the current Chief of Helm, for however long it would last. She felt thus safe to assume they were headed to the same location. "To the meeting room that's been designed to act as Office of Student Affairs," she replied and motioned over her shoulder.

As she'd walked into the large building, she'd marveled at the magnificent state of something as mundane as an Academy. Her universe didn't have the same feel for grandeur, especially not for utilitarian buildings like an academy.

Felicity nodded and moved to fall in step with the other woman. "Aye, me too," she said. "All the senior staff of the Odin, apparently. According to the message. I haven't the foggiest idea why we're all being called here. I can't imagine we have class."

"I've never been to class in such an organised surrounding," Indi mused out loud as they walked. As it was, most of their training was hands on and very practical. The theory was oftentimes organised in the middle of a simulation, so on the Bridge of a starship or--in her specialty--in the Security offices.

"No?" Felicity asked curiously. She hadn't been aboard the ship for the past year it had experienced, but she'd read a short briefing on what had happened--as all new crew did. The details were not excessive, just enough to know what a person was walking into. "There wasn't any sort of academy like this in the Union?"

Indi replied by voicing her latest thoughts, the practical training part, outloud to the other woman. "So, it was an academy, but with much less focus on the theory. The theory didn't matter all that much as long as you got the job done."

The helm officer considered this. "Sounds very...practical," was her comment. "Rather military. Was everyone military?"

"I guess you can compare the Union way of doing things with old military regimes, yes," Indi replied, having thought a lot about that since their return/arrival into this universe and how it was so different here. "There were plenty of people, just like here, who weren't in Starfleet, but when you did join up, you weren't there to explore the universe."

"Sounds..." Felicity began with a thoughtful frown, but she hesitated because she didn't want to say anything offensive about where this woman had come from. "Well, it sounds pretty different." Before she could risk putting her foot in her mouth, she saw the door. "Here we are."
