Proteges, not Prophecies

Mission: Home
"Hey," Kristiana spoke up hesitantly. She was wearing a simple outfit, pants and a shirt, boots and a belt. No uniform. No rank. No communicator. "Got a moment?"
The cyclopean rabbitess looked up over her tea at Kristiana warmly, dressed in a similar casual fashion. Simple shirt, simple vest, with comfy pants with flair wide enough to handle her bare paw feet. She wore her comm badge, as since she was technically off duty she still considered herself on call for emergencies. "Of course, please." she motioned to the chair next to her with a free hand as she placed her tea back on the table.
"Yeah I can sit for a bit, I think," Kris agreed, taking the indicated seat, settling in. "So we're back in our home universe. Still not entirely sure what happened, how we got back here, who or what that strange woman was. Q, maybe? I'unno."
"I don't know if I'm prepared to think that she was being truthful in saying she was a god. As a society, we're trying to move away from the concept of divinity. Our current Emperor is looking to undo the worship her station usually encouraged, and wants to be more of a social leader than a spiritual leader. Personally, I just think she doesn't want blood on her hands if people do crazy stunts in her name."
"The only other pantheon I'm really familiar with is the Dalacari concept of the entity, Dia." a pause, "And I can assure you, that was not Dia." she paused again to sip her tea, and return it to the table. "Maybe we're not meant to know? Mysteries of the cosmos and all." she shrugged. Non-committal action didn't look right on her, and she knew it.
"I took her comment about being a Goddess as referencing her physical manifestation, being a female version of Odin from old Earth lore, not as to imply she was a deity to be worshipped," Kris shrugged a bit. "Gods are in the eye of the beholder anyways. But that's not what I'm here to talk about."
"I hate that expression." Callisi commented, but seemed to take no offense. None was intended. "Looking for a place to relax and unwind without having to worry about duty for the time being?" she offered. "Don't worry, if anyone asks, I'll remind them I'm off duty."
"I'll tell them to get lost, being the Ex-Oh and all," Kris smirked, though tiredly. "No, the thing is, we're back in our prime universe now and we're only a few hours at warp from Earth, and we've got a few days to wind down while paperwork happens. I was gonna grab a shuttle and visit Earth, see what state my family's farm is in. And I didn't wanna go alone."
"I've never been to Earth. I hear you have a lovely moon, though a pity it's dead." she offered, "I'd consider myself privileged to accompany you. To see the farm left behind. Maybe see what animals have claimed it during the time you've been away." a pause, "Not to mention I'm not afraid of some hard work if it came to fixing the place up a little."
"I don't know about work or fixing it up, it's - we'd have to see what state it's in first, and then - " Kris shook her head a little, seemed this whole thing was weighing more on her than she was admitting. "I don't know. We'll figure something out once we're down there. Fixing it up is - well, I'm gonna be going back into space in a few days so that might be a waste of time, maybe we can find something else to do with it, Idunno."
"I'll follow your lead, but it could do some good... for both the structure and you... to just clean it up. Remove the weeds, tend to the grounds. Sweep. Rake. Give it a treatment similar to a shrine." she offered, ears drooping slightly in a relaxed posture. "Whatever it is, I'll be there to see it through."
Kristiana held a hand up, shaking her head a bit. "I'm - ... Not there yet. Brain isn't there yet. Just - gonna get ready, grab some stuff, grab a shuttle and head down. We'll see what the next step is when we get there."
"I've.. crossed a cultural border, haven't I?" she asked, turning to fully fae Kris. "On Ts'usu, a situation like this is a chance to renew, to re-evaluate. To that end, we put it all on renewing the structure, since we.. really don't like discussing our own issues." she paused, almost looking away. "It's easier to fix a house than to fix a soul. So we fix the house to disguise fixing the soul."
"I put that mindset on your trip down to your farm. I misread your intentions, and I'm sorry." a pause, "Though, I'm still willing to join you on your trip down."
"Cultural border, what? Oh - no. Not at all," Kris shook her head again. "It's just a me thing. This is - " she trailed off for a moment before continuing. "This is a big thing for me. Confronting realities that I've always run away from. Facing up to a past I'd rather just disappeared. I'm not - ... ready yet to look past just hopping on a shuttle and making landfall. I need to take this a step at a time. I'm not strong ex-oh Petrova, now. Not feeling like strong ex-oh Petrova. I'm scared little girl Kristiana."
What Callisi figured Kris needed wasn't any more Ts'usugi wisdom, or ancient Three Moon Philosophy. "I'll be there if you need me, in whatever capacity I can be." there was a ghost of a smile there. A friendly gesture along with an understanding nod. As understanding as Callisi could muster.
"Thanks. I need a friend now," Kris mused. "Not an - ... oracle of wisdom."
That same whisp of a smile, those same relaxed droopy ears. "Of course. Keep me posted on when and where we'll be leaving from."
