“Hey!”

“His eyes are open!”

Soon there where already three doctors around the bed where Ceaser was in. He had woken up out of a coma. “Where?... Where am I”, these where the first words he spoke. He completely had lost his memory. Ceaser even asked what his name was. The Doctors told him his name. ”What happened?” did Ceaser ask. The doctors told him he just woke up from a coma. How he got in his coma they still didn’t know, they are still investigatng it. It might be possible that it actually wasn’t an accident.

Indi had met most of her crew by now. A few of them were still in Sickbay, and even though she'd intended to eventually visit them, that timeframe was rushed when she got the news that one of her more junior officers had woken up. Unexpectedly, but that was usually the case with coma cases.

Once in Sickbay, she headed over to Ceaser's bed and made sure her face showed her more friendly side. "How are you feeling?" she asked.

Ceaser answerd “ I don’t know, you don’t lose your memories everyday.” His face changed to a sad face when he spoke that sentince.

Grabbing a nearby chair, Indi sat down. She wasn't a counselor, but she could at least try to be kind. If she'd learned anything over the years, it was to use her human side. "That's true. What's the last you remember?"

“The last thing I remember?, Well I remembered a loud bang and after that everything went black.” The look on his face showed that he was afraid. The doctors meanwhile asked if he could try to walk. When he tried to walk, Ceaser’s day became even worse. ”I can’t feel my feet!” he sad.

“What..? What is happening to me..” he sounded very desperate.

The nurse that had tried to guide his legs to the edge of this bed, smiled slightly towards the young Ensign. "It's alright, Ceaser. It's not uncommon for this to happen. We'll have you back on your feet in no time."

“I hope you will.” Ceaser is wondering what would happen if he could never walk again. He looked his department head in the eyes and was afraid she wouldn’t ever let him come back like this.

Indi didn't want to meddle in the Medical side of things, but she recognised his look for what it was. She'd felt similar in the past, whenever she'd been injured. "It's alright," she put her hand on his shoulder. "You should focus on your recovery."

“I’ll try my best, one day I’ll make my dreams come true and become one of the Starfleet captains.” He wanted to be as soon as possible back to his working positions.

"I'm sure you will be, I'm sure you will be," Indi continued to smile. Some sadness had crept into her smile. She'd never known Starfleet. She'd been Union. And the Union didn't allow for much idealism. But she appreciated his enthusiasm.

“Did you had something similar ever? And what did you do?”

The directness of the question took Indi aback, but she recovered quickly. She understood his fear at least, but she wasn't prepared to just admit that much. "Everybody goes through difficult periods in their life, Ensign," she finally replied. "We can only do the best we can to get through them with the help that's available to us. Everybody here has the best in mind for you."

He finally accepted to stay in bed till he was recovered. He was sure he would do everything to get back on his feet as soon as possible. "How long does it usually take for people to get back on their feet, nurse?” did Ceaser ask.

"That's different for everyone, Ceaser," the nurse replied. "It depends on how much you want it yourself. If I hear your willingness to beat this, I'm sure it won't take long."

He was willing to do everything to do it as fast as possible. “Is there anything I can do so it could go any faster?” He said and he looked the nurse right in the eyes.

Before the nurse had a chance to answer, Doctor Warner approached. "Ensign," she said with a friendly smile. "It's good to see you awake." She saw the other woman and recalled the incoming file. Union. Chief of security. "Commander, hello." She nodded at Hawk and then turned back to the young man. "Did I hear you say you're having trouble feeling your feet?"

Indi nodded her greeting, but otherwise didn't interfere with the exchange between the doctor and her assistant.

“Sadly enough you’re right, I can’t feel anything at all. Yet!, I hope. But I am sure everyone in this room is willing to help me, that motivates me.” While saying this he looked to Indi and doc.

"I'm sure it does," Amelia agreed warmly. "It's common for it to take some time for everything to feel normal again. Your medical readings are alright, so just give yourself a day or two to rest and you'll get there. You'll be back on duty very soon, I'm sure."

“Can I try it one more time today?”

The doctor nodded. "Of course," she said. "You can try again whenever you feel ready to do so."

By his first try he stood up for two seconds and fell after that. “I’ll keep trying!” with this almost victory he had even more confidence.

"See?" Amelia said. "You're already doing better. Like I said, give it a day or so and you'll be back on your feet. For now, rest. Eat. And you'll feel even better."
