Talee was on the bridge for the first time since arriving on the Odin up until now there was no need but now it was time for Talee to get acquainted with her workstation.Tapping a few buttons her workstation came to life until she went to the academy her access to terminals and workstations was just to submit reports. Tapping a few more buttons she pulled up ships diagnostic reports.
"Impressive," Talee said with a soft purr watching at the speed the reports came up. Her quartermaster might be on something with the pool table to help engineering out with damage control. Hence the push for cross-department training and how important it is.
Mallory exited her ready room, feeling the need to take a walk and stretch a bit. She noticed the new chief of operations at her station, apparently getting acquainted, so she changed course to walk over to the Caitian. "How're you settling in, Lieutenant?"
Talee looked up when she heard a voice, "oh-uh......ah captain," Talee stammered. "Y yes ma'am I have been settling in nicely. Actually I have something to run by you......umm I was hoping to get some cross-department training going."
"Oh?" Mal asked curiously. She leaned back against the console and folded her arms, but smiled in a friendly way since she didn't want to unnerve the poor woman any more than she already apparently did. "What sort of training were you thinking of doing?"
"After meeting with the ships quartermaster and seeing her unique pool table she has in her small office. I would like to run some damage control exercises. Having her, myself and engineering working in unison in directing the damage control teams from three different locations. The chief engineer in engineering, myself on the bridge and the chief in her office using her unique pool table."
"I think that would be a good idea," the captain agreed. "Although I'm curious as to the use of the quartermaster. "This doesn't seem like her usual area." Mallory smiled.
"Being trained on a quasi/semi-military freighter I learned to use every resource I have available to me." Talee said struggling to tell if she was being serious now the smile did help a little. ".....but I also understand that engineering control the damage control teams but it can't hurt to have an extra set of eyes especially during intense times."
"Quite, and it's your area too. You and engineering will often work in lock-step," she said. "The quartermaster is generally just in requisitions."
"Yes it is a bit odd," Talee said looking around the bridge, ".....but she also designed and requisitioned this pool table to make her job easier but she also sees potential for it elsewhere." Talee said, "which shows me she's more then just a quartermaster."
Mallory smiled and nodded. "Certainly," she agreed. "I look forward to seeing what the two of your come up with for these training exercises."
"Of course ma'am," Talee said just realizing she needed to come up with the training exercises which wasn't new hell she had to help her superior on the CMF Lamprey. Not as intense as they were going to be but it was still kinda the same thing. "We'll be ready to run the training exercises once we get underway."
"Sounds good. I'd like to see a brief on what you have planned before you begin them," she said with a nod.
Talee returned the nod, "the chief well be pleased with this it seems she's been wanting to do something like this for sometime."
Mallory nodded again. "Very good. Carry on, Lieutenant."
