Mission:
Changing Faces
Location: Bridge
Now that she was allowed a wider access to the ship, Kat made her way to the Bridge. She was looking for one person in particular and the computer had informed her that her target was on the bridge. Out of the turbolift though did not stop the familiar young, blonde haired woman, but flew a small, four-winged, iridescent black feathered dromaeosaur. Long feathered tail used for steering, both fore and rear limbs with long, pennaceous feathers and keen eyes set into almost avian face. The creature looked around, noticing her target and turned into a steep turn and dive, flickering and shifting into the more familiar blond haired woman Madalene had come to know.
"Hello Madalene. I hope I am not interrupting. I was hoping to speak to you for a moment."
Madalene jumped not at her name being called but what she saw. "Wai...wha....Kat?" Madalene stammered brushing some hair out of her face.
Kat took half a step back, folding her hands together in front of her and looking a bit down, "My apologies, did I startle you? That was not my intention."
"No well yes...well its just not everyday you see a dinosaur coming waltzing onto the bridge." Madalene said with a chuckle.
"I see," Kat said with a smile, relaxing again. "It's a form I've chosen to get around the ship easier. Though it's purely an aesthetic choice, as my holographic projection serves only to make me more comfortable to interact with, for others. Which is part of what I wish to talk about. I am looking to upgrade my remote projector."
"Oh okay...what are you thinking?" Madalene asked looking forwarded to this project.
"Currently my remote projector just projects a hologram and emits sound. This means I am unable to interact with any physical objects," Kat explained. "From reading the ship's library, I know the Federation has force field technology that's high resolution enough to provide a hologram with physical interactivity. This technology is used on the holodeck. I would like very much to upgrade my remote holographic projector with this technology. It would allow me to be more helpful on the ship." Beat. "Though likely it would increase the bulk and power use of my remote projector."
"Hmm...," Madalene said pulling up the specs of Kat's remote projector along with force tech specifically the tech allowing holograms to interact with the physical world. "....will good news it is doable. But you are right it is gonna add bulk to your remote projector." Madalene said looking over the specs, "....but like with everything there is trimming that can be done.' Madalene smirked.
"Some added bullk and mass is not a problem, though anything beyond fifteen percent would require an upgrade to the mobility repulsors as well," Kat mused. "It is something we'd need to work together on, run simulations on new designs, things like that. Can I count on your help with this, Madalene?"
"Okay no more than fifteen percent," Madalene muttered looking over the specs, "....apologies yes yes I can definitely help. I'll need to schedule us some time in the 3D rendering/computer lab giving us better tools for this project." Madalene added with a smile.
"More than fifteen percent is alright if we also upgrade the repulsors," Kat smiled softly. "I will let you schedule some time in the 3D lab, then. Thank you for agreeing to help."
"Of course I am always up for some interesting projects." Madalene said with a smile, "...in the next few hours I should have a time for us to go and get into the 3D lab."
"You know where to find me, Madalene," Kat smiled. Between her visit to the fighter bay and now this conversation today had proven to be a very interesting and productive day so far. "Until then," she gave a nod, as her hologram flickered and shifted back to the four-winged dromaeosaur, jumping up into the air to glide back towards the turbolift.
Madalene chuckled as she watch her fly off on the dinosaur.
