Mission: Changing Faces
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After "Weird Shit"

As Cor materialized on a biobed, the cut on his hand split open more, as drops of blue colored blood dripped from it.

Doctor Amelia Warner rushed to the side of their newly-arrived patient. With Doctor Dering busy treating an engineer who had been hurt during a recent repair, Warner was in charge of this one. Nothing like a good medical mystery, eh? The woman hurried over, snapping her tricorder open as she went.

"Radiation sickness," she said, the first thing she registered on the screen.

"Are we in danger?" a young nurse asked, wide-eyed.

After a moment, Amelia shook her head. "No radiation is coming from the body," she said, moving around him with her scanning device. "But severely ill. He must have been exposed to a hell of a dose. Put up an environmental forcefield just in case, and then get a blood sample."

"Blue," the nurse said. "Like Bolians."

"And Andorians," Amelia commented. "Contusions, fractures, lacerations... Either he was in a ship crash or someone beat the crap out of him."

At this point, Cor made a soft, nearly inaudible moan.

"Doctor!" the nurse exclaimed.

Amelia's eyes swung up to the patient's face, seeing the subtle changes and movements with a faint noise. She moved closer to his head. "Can you hear me?" she said gently. "Can you understand me?"

Cor's eyes opened briefly, revealing the pale blue irises in otherwise black eyes before he closed them again, speaking softly in an unknown language.

"Keep scanning," Amelia said in a low voice to the nurse. "Have we identified the radiation yet?"

"Not yet, but we're close."

"As soon as you do, begin a treatment protocol," she said before turning back to the patient. She touched herself on the chest. "Amelia," she said, her voice low but clearly enunciated, followed by an expectant look. She needed to keep him talking and thinking so the UT could work.

Some more unknown language then at the end something that might be a name--Cor Ive.

The exact type of radiation was determined--an incredibly large dose of Gravimetric Radition.

"Cor Ive?" Amelia repeated. "Is that your name?" Meanwhile, the nurse was preparing a proper therapeutic protocol, but before she could deliver it, Amelia said, "Make sure you compare that to his bio-signs so there's less chance of a reaction. We don't know his species." She turned back to the barely-conscious patient. "You are Cor Ive?"

Cor nodded slightly. "Where are we?" He asked, the UT finally catching on. Cor's eyes remained closed, and his voice a low whisper, as though he was weak.

The nurse lightly tapped Amelia's shoulder. "The treatment should be safe," she informed the doctor, who nodded for her to proceed before turning back to their patient. "You are on the Federation Starship Odin," she told him. "I'm Doctor Amelia Warner, and we treating you for a severe case of radiation poisoning."

"Traitor did this..." Cor said, trying to move to gesture at something, but unable to get the strength to do so.

"Please try not to move," Amelia said quickly but gently. "You're very sick, but we're going to take care of you." She tried to process what he said. "The ship found you adrift in some wreckage. You were unconscious. Do you remember what happened to you?"

"Dreadnought...crashed. Traitor's doing." Cor said, groaning a bit.

Naturally, the story didn't mean much to her, but she tried to start piecing together what she could. "You were alone in your ship?"

Cor nodded slightly. "Leaving planet. Vacation." He said, his eyes slowly opening again.

Amelia smiled sadly. "Hell of a vacation," she said. For a moment, she looked up at his vitals, which looked to be improving. She turned back to him. "How are you feeling? The treatment seems to be working."

"Better. Thank you." Cor said, his voice sounding better. He moved to sit up. "Need to see if anyone else survived. High Command's gonna need me." Amelia would get the feeling that duty and service was of large importance to Cor.

"Please," Amelia repeated quickly, "don't move. You're going to be feeling better, but you need to stay here for a while because you're far from healthy. More treatment is needed." She paused. "I will have someone come speak to you about what we found around you, but you must stay here."

"I need one thing from the ship then. A photograph. It's of my late wife, Yena. I don't go anywhere without it. It should be near my console on my ship." Cor said, laying back down with a sigh.

Amelia smiled. "I'll send someone to retrieve it," she said. "In the meantime, just rest and let the medicine work."

"Alright, sounds good, thank you." Cor said, smiling.
