"What the fuck is the USS Odin..."

Secretary Camilla Rau sat behind her desk in her office on the planet of Dannor IV. One entire wall was a window that looked out over the thriving city that was the seat of the Seelie Coalition...for the moment. Much like the coalition's people didn't keep to one form, neither did they keep to one city. Rau had learned long ago that giving the enemy too easy a target saw you lose many of your people. For now, though, the capital city of Dannor IV was where she called home.

At this precise moment, however, she was meeting with her hand-selected delegation to discuss the upcoming peace talks with the Terran Union and, by association, the Alliance of Worlds. It was a dicey prospect, but she knew they needed to be smart.

In the privacy of her own people, however, she had no compunction about voicing her mind. She tossed the data-tablet onto her desk. "Do either of you know what the hell a USS Odin is?"

"The name is somewhat familiar," Camilla's long (long) suffering assistant Madison said. She looked up from the data-tablet she was reading and smiled slightly. "Norse mythos of old Earth, I believe."

Izeli stood by the wall, one foot in a boot with a heel pressed into it. She shrugged her shoulders then offered a bit of Terran history she had studied, her expertise was trivia from the geography that the word “Seelie” came from. “Yes. One of the pagan Gods that ruled lands to the north of Terran Europe. I do not understand the reference here though, they do not normally name their ships in this manner.” The red head had her arms crossed, over the silver garment under the leather detailed collar of her armor.

Camilla made a noise in the back of her throat that was very much not human or even humanoid, something of a hissing growl like a cat. "That red-eyed bitch General Stanton says that USS Odin is entirely neutral." She eyed her computer monitor. "That it's a ship from a..." Her eyes narrowed as she re-read the letter. "...a displaced timeline?" She pointed to the data-tablet. "Read the letter. This shit should be in a book."

Madison had been reading. She always read everything before Rau did. It was safer that way. Although she knew that not everything hit her desk first... "Do we know what the crew complement is? How much security we are allowed to bring?" There was always the fear that this was some sort of trap, of course.

"They didn't say the size, but they included some images," Camilla replied, still looking like someone who was actively sucking on a lemon. "The ship doesn't look small. Which is both good and bad for us. However, I don't see any sign of limited security...though they say the ship has its own security staff that will coordinate with both us and the Union delegation."

Izeli snorted slightly then moved with a liquid grace that she could shift with. Her agitation with the upcoming diplomatic mission showing in a subtle lack of stability in a small place of her appearance, one that showed her flare for vibrance as well, the hair, it shifted through shades like turning a prism in a light. “We will need to be on our guard, Stanton must find an advantage in this meeting site or would not suggest it.” Feeling how her nerves were affecting her she snapped her fingers and her hair went back to the red it normally was.

Camilla took a moment to eye the other woman's hair. She didn't comment on it, however. She understand the agitation, after all, because she was feeling pretty fucking agitated herself right about then. "I agree," she said. "There is always some sort of mind game at work with the woman...and yet I don't imagine she wants to risk pissing us off either. That never did well for them. And we have long memories. She knows that."

“Truth, I suppose we will just wait and see.” Izel pushed off from against the wall. “I might even try and behave while we are there.” A joke? Hopefully.
