Quinle rose from the staff meeting and picked up her PaDD, tucking it under her arm she walked out into the hallway. It was there she paused and waited. She wished to meet their new science officer and figured that if she and he became acquainted she might be able to help him become more accustomed to their ship and personnel. It was an attempt to take pressure off the new CMO who might work with him, and most definitely the Captain.

She didn't lean, or really relax, as she stood by the wall her spine was as straight as it, yet she still looked comfortable and like she could remain there for hours if she needed to. She was fairly young for the position she was in as many counselors who were not empathy needed longer to move up to handling full crews on their own, but her time on this ship forced her to be in charge of a department, something she had been reprimanded for in the past. Not her inability to do something like this, but her desire to.

The counselor had wanted free time, she had wanted to paint and study, look to the stars and meet new people. Her smile grew ever larger and she thought to herself that this was exactly what she was doing now. A whole new timeline of people she had yet to meet. Excitement made her dark eyes twinkle slightly.

Having been dismissed from the briefing room, and advised that the ship's commanding officer would be in touch with him regarding the meeting she'd alluded to, Tavrus left the room. He'd only taken a few steps into the corridor before he realized that the woman who he had come to understand was the ship's counselor was standing just outside the doors, looking expectantly at him.

"Is there something I can assist you with, Lieutenant?" he asked, stopping to face her.

“I thought to offer a more personal welcome, I am not the best guide to the ship, but want to let you know that my office doors are always open to you. Even if all you want is a cup of tea in a place no one will stare and wonder about you.” There was an understanding tone in her voice that she was well aware of the looks the unwelcome, or new, could illicit.

Squinting his eyes slightly he gazed at the woman, trying to decide if she was being serious. Her open and completely honest face told him she was. "I appreciate the effort, Lieutenant, though stares and assumptions are irrelevant. They have no effect on my ability to do my job," he replied.

After dealing with others on the ship, and on her last, she just inclined her head, her expression unchanging. “I am pleased to hear that, very pleased other opinions do not affect your work.” Taking a half step forward, not invading personal space but just a comfortable distance to close. “The offer always stands. I should leave you to handle the others who need to get you settled in. I hope you enjoy the Odin.”

"Thank you, counselor, and I will keep your offer in mind. I may have need of your services going forward, though not simply for a friendly chat. I hope that will be acceptable to you," Tavrus replied.

The smile shifted and became slightly more compassionate, “I am at your disposal whenever you may need. Good luck with getting situated on the ship.” Turning away with an ease of movement the counselor headed back towards her office.
