....Maddy headed for the gym she needed to blow off some steam or just exercise she wasn't sure which. Deciding to some free weights before moving to the bags. As she finished her last rep for the free weights she took a breather as she struggled taping up her hands for the bag. The wrapping wasn't the problem, the problem was she didn't know how to punch. And on a wild punch she felt and heard the crack of her pointer and index finger breaking on her left hand.
[...Infirmary...]
Collapsing to the ground in pain Maddy fought hard to get her breath under control before even attempting to stand and make it out of the gym and down to the infirmary. "I I need help..." A dark-haired women said holding her left hand and tears running down her face.
Suddenly someone was there with her and a sound of a tricorder could be heard. Head Nurse Helen Reed leaned over her. “It’s going to be alright, hun. We’ll get your taken care of.” she said, reassuringly. “It looks as if we three phalangeal fractures” she said to someone off to the side.
“Doctor Dering’s in his office, I’ll go get him,” said the technician before hurrying off.
Madalene just nodded her hand throbbing. "J just make the pain stop...." Madalene said her mind just filled with the pain.

Moments later she was on a biobed and readings of her vital signs appeared on the biofunction monitor at its head. “Lieutenant Sabine,” Cole said as he approached, “I don’t believe we’ve met, I’m Doctor Cole Dering.” As he spoke he’d been handed the tricorder with it’s readings. “Let me guess...this happened at the gym, right?” he asked while looking over her readings.
Madalene just nodded still in a bit of pain. "W went to relieve some stress...b but I apparently don't know how to punch." Madalene said with a small chuckle.
"Ahh. I see,” Cole replied. He had sadly nodded, feeling he understood. It seemed like there was an epidemic among the crew. He managed to give her a smile as he placed a hypo to her neck, releasing its contents. “I think you may need another way to manage your stress.”
"....working on it," the young lieutenant said under her breath. "Maybe your right." Madalene said a little bit louder.
The pain medication taking effect on her, Cole had picked up a handheld osteo-regenerator and switched it on. He started running it gently over her hand. “How about jogging or...maybe trying meditation?” he glanced up to her and smiled.
"Maybe. Or I can just learn how to punch without hurting myself." Madalene said with a wince and shrug of her shoulders.
Cole raised an eyebrow at that, "I think that’s wise…" and a minute later the regenerator beeped, informing him that the bones in her hand had been mended. "Alright, all healed."
"Thanks. Anything else I need to do or is it good to go?" Madalene asked enjoying the comforts of advanced medicine.
"Get boxing lessons," he replied, hands in his labcoat pocket as he stared at her sternly, "I mean that."
"Fair enough." Madalene said sliding off the bed and flexing her fingers and hand it was sore but it was still useable. "Thanks again." Madalene said as she headed out of the infirmary.
