"...Porra, we are already late! The recording will be here when we get back," the young Orion pleaded with the young Denobulan.
"I know, I know, I know," Porra said, swearing she had heard something in the spatial recording. "...I swear I hold something in this recording, like...," the young Denobulan muttered, looking at the screen before finally tearing her eyes away.
Lirien looked at the screen, and then her friend since the Academy and only had a small separation as she was assigned to the Odin while Lirien was assigned to the USS Veylan, a Nova-class. "I am sure there was something, I mean...," but she also drifted off; her friend's specialty was just that, a specialty, and she knew very little about it.
"...wait! We aren't dressed." Porra said they were dressed, just not dressed-dressed.
"We are gonna have to risk it, I mean...all we are missing is the stuffy collar, yeah?" Lirien said before realizing she was in her skirt, but either way, they were in uniform. "Come on, we'll be fine," Lirien said with a smirk. She was not a rule breaker, but she was Orion, and one thing about Orions was 'rules were meant to be broken'.
"...okay, just like double-dutch," Porra said with a soft chuckle as they both timed their entrance. The upside was that they weren't that late, so there was still a good number of people.
"Tough part done," Lirien said with a matching chuckle, but stopped when they heard a voice.
"Nice of you two to join us, and I see we continue to disobey orders." The male Bajoran said, shaking his head, trying to keep his cool with these two specifically, and then also the other two.
"Apologies, Lieutenant, it is my fault. I got lost in my work," Porra said quickly. "And, as for um, us not being in dress attire, we figured we should get down here as soon as possible, and well, our uniforms are....," but she stopped after seeing her team lead's face.
"Go, just go mingle, we'll discuss this later," the team lead just said, sounding exhausted. The duo just nodded and quickly scampered off, Porra barely able to contain her glee. They both knew they were going to get a good talking-to tomorrow.
"Good of you to finally show," Drevik, the male Bolian, said, shaking his head, but unable to hide his smile, "Porra come, I have met some of the most fascinating people.
"Go, go have a good time," Lirien said, giving Porra a smile, knowing that Porra and Drevik were the two true extroverts of their little group. And, they loved chatting with interesting people. Watching them leave, her pale green eyes landed on the pale-blue-skinned Andorian and gave them a soft smile, the same one she gave her the day they met.
The Andorian growled, but it was a playful growl, "You owe me for babysitting that one," she said, letting one of her antennas swivel to face the other blue-skinned alien.
Lirien chuckled, "And how many do I owe you now?"
"Too many to count," Zhara said, her eyes twinkling, her hand reaching out as she allowed a finger to intertwine with Lirien's finger. "But, you need to be careful not to get dragged into her, her...," Zhara said, but stopped right before saying something she would regret.
Lirien knew what Zhara wanted to say, and it stemmed back to their Academy days. "I am being careful, it isn't like last time, I promise!" Lirien said with a soft smile and squeezed Zhara's hand. "Now, we'd better go mingle before I get into more trouble with the el-tee." Lirien chuckled. Zhara squeezed the hand back, but then quickly released it, before nodding about mingling, or at least helping Lirien look like they were mingling.
