| Personal History | The ninth of eleven children in the vel Morah family, Lirien grew up in a lively, close-knit household. From an early age, she was drawn to the night sky — often the quietest child at family gatherings, more interested in staring up at the stars than joining in the noise. Her parents quietly noted she had a mind that never stopped asking why. The choice was simple to her, even if it surprised some. Starfleet offered the one thing she wanted most — a way to get closer to the stars she had spent her whole life studying from the ground. The Academy's science program gave her the foundation she needed, and she excelled in stellar cartography and astrophysics. Making friends came as naturally there as it always had. Her first posting was aboard a Nova-class vessel — small, quiet, and built for short-range science missions. It suited her well. She found her footing as a junior science officer, contributing to planetary surveys and stellar observation reports. The tight crew quickly became like a second family. Still, the ship's limited range meant that deeper space — the part of the universe she really wanted to see — always remained just out of reach. When a posting opened on the USS Odin, Lirien put her name forward without hesitation. A larger ship meant longer deployments, deeper space, and far more to discover. It was exactly the kind of opportunity she had joined Starfleet for. Leaving her Nova-class crew behind was harder than she expected — but the stars, as always, called louder. |
