History
| Personal History | As a child growing up, Finchley had loving parents, but they weren't over protective of him, making sure he was able to stand on his ow 2 feet. The area in which they lived was reasonably good, though there was a 'tough' element, and it wasn't unknown for Finchley to appear back home with one or two scrapes and bumps now and again. Both his parents were Biologists at the local Science laboratory in Baltas Colony on Mars, and Finchley, along with his older brother James and his younger sister Juliet, always had fresh flowers around the house, making it smell wonderful. Schooling could be a bit hard for him at times, not naturally gifted like James, Finchley found he had to study more and this did make him a little bit resentful towards his older brother, but not enough for it to be made known outwardly. He soon found that from an early age, physical sports were a huge draw for him, and especially athletics with his middle distance running being a complete favourite. This didn't go unnoticed by his tutors, who, with the help of a local facility, helped Finchley to enter into a number of local sporting competitions, and he had mixed results, winning some races, coming mid pack in a number also. However, this did teach Finchley that to compete was the aim of the game, something tat has stayed with him his entire life. Subject wise, he did take to chemistry and physics quite well, science was an interest, but just a passing one, he didn't do much in depth study. Mathematics he took to quite easily and excelled in, it was one of his best subjects as he enjoyed problem solving. After graduating from his schooling, he made application to Starfleet and was accepted. It didn't really occur to him till after he began his training that he had never followed the same path as his parents, and become interested or involved with anything of a scientific or biological nature. More so, he did find himself drawn towards the more physical side of things, and again, this didn't go amiss with the tutors at the Academy, and when the time came for him to think about career choice, he had no hesitation in asking about taking classes that would help him in his pursuit to become a Security officer. His tutors could see he was determined enough, was definitely physically strong enough, and his education results from his schooling and initial assessments in Academy application were more than enough for him to be able to begin those studies. As with his schooling, Finchley studied hard in his time at the Academy, finally passing out with a Credit Pass, something he was immensely proud of achieving. Once he had passed out, he began a career he never dreamed of, but oh so much enjoyed to the full. |

| Service Record | Year 1: Studied as Security Cadet and seconded in Communications. Also did triage course work, weapons (basic). Second year: Advanced Security and Communications study, weapons (standard) and basic medical background study. Year three: Completed Advanced Security degree (with one year to spare)so set himself the target of getting pilots license (shuttle only). Secondary medical study and weapons (Federation Security level) Year four: Completed shuttle pilots license and also secondary medical studies (minimal pass). Advanced weapons course and Communications degree both passed. Graduated from Starfleet Academy and brought into service.
