Yol joined Starfleet as part of a cultural exchange with a long-forgotten Human colony of Hjildskvar, on the outreaches of known space. A curious settlement, Hjildskvarans are genetically descendant from humans, but have intriguing adaptations to the harsh environments of their native planet. Although a people who choose to live primitively, they honor a select warrior caste that is charged with protecting their system from interplanetary strangers. Yol and his wingmate are the first members of their world to join the Federation's ranks. |
