History
Personal History | Born and raised on Caldon Colony, the Rhodes have a long history of maintaining the weather and other equipment on the colony. The Rhodes also have a tradition of enlisting in Starfleet to gain a technical education before returning to their homeworld. Bill was planning on doing just that, except two years in to his enlistment, he met his Dana McCook, an enlisted assistant to the ship's astrometric officer. Unlike Bill, Dana was planning on making a career of Starfleet, and didn't want to quit her career just to spend the rest of her life on a remote colony world. So naturally Bill stayed in Starfleet. Once he decided to make a career out of Starfleet, Bill transferred to shuttlecraft and runabout maintenance. During one of the flare ups the Federation has with one of its neighbors, Bill was drafted into fighter maintenance, and has remained there ever since. Twenty nine years into his enlisted career, Bill let one of his friends talk him into accepting a billet as chief of fighter maintenance on a refit carrier. Meanwhile, his wife is spending the last year of her career on Mars, and is helping her youngest child get settled into college. |
